I am now level 24 in Aion, 3/4 to 25. For the first time I’m experiencing some of the “grind” associated with this game but I’ve played much grindier games before so I don’t mind so much…

Obviously the graphics are superior to WoW but that is Aion’s main strength. I wouldn’t play this game if it didn’t look amazing. WoW has more content and polish but who wants to stare at the same video game for 5+ years? People say “graphics arent everything”, which is true, but I don’t want to be like those guys who still play Atari and Super Nintento… maybe those games are fun but I can only ignore the tremendous advances in graphics for so long…

WoW is a bit smoother. I don’t like Aion’s movement style as much but I am positive it is working as intended. There is also a graphical bug that causes your character to bounce back and forth like a rubber band sometimes, which can be annoying.

Overall, though, Aion is just as good as original WoW was. They are releasing a major update this year that will address some issues and add more end game content (including raids). I wouldn’t be surprised if 1 or 2 years from now Aion is superior to WoW.
